6 WEEK CLASS SERIES - YOGA THERAPY FOR CHRONIC PAIN

Given that chronic pain is a complex syndrome that includes physical, psychological, and social processes, a holistic (mind-body) approach tends to be more effective than traditional interventions. 

 

You will learn:
 

  • About The Pancamaya Model (the lens of Yoga Therapy) in relationship to chronic pain

  • How to use the breath to reduce pain and/or increase pain-tolerance

  • How to safely use props to support your individual needs

  • Stress management techniques you can use anywhere, anytime, to reduce pain, or prevent exacerbation

  • Yoga practices such as asana, pranayama, mudra, meditation, and visualization will be implemented in effort to increase awareness of breathing patterns that may be contributing to pain, and how thoughts, emotions, and physical sensation are interrelated. 

  • You will leave feeling empowered and ready to challenge and re-write held beliefs about your body and your pain.
